TGIF
Headband - Urban Outfitters - $4.99
Cardigan - GAP - Gifted
Dress - Target - $6
Braided Belt - H&M - $2
Ending my work week on a bright note, literally. Bright colors have really lifted my spirits lately. So many spring showers this past week but I’ve been pushing through with bright beautiful colors, stripes and floral patterns to get everyone smiling and beach ready, not only for this holiday weekend, but for the summer!
So if you need a little pep in your step, there are so many places, especially thrift stores right now, that are stocked with inexpensive brightly colored and beautiful patterned clothes! If you can find a Value Village or Goodwill thats organized by color, that makes everything easier :)
Alright you fashionista frugalistas, have a safe and fun holiday weekend!
xx
Attention fellow Fashionista Frugalistas, are you looking for an affordable and safe way to get that natural summer glow for this season?
For anyone who has been considering using a tanning bed to speed up your summer glow, I ask you guys to save your skin and your wallet any pain and suffering. I just recently started using Jergens Natural Glow & Protect (in Medium/Tan since I already have a dark complexion) and I have so many positive things to say about this product!
+ It smells nice, light and sweet, not that sour fake tanning lotion smell that many products have. I find this lotion to smell nicer than the regular Jergens Natural Glow.
+ It is perfect for everyday use with the new SPF 20 that has been added to it. You are not only getting color but protecting your skin while you’re at it!
+ It makes my skin feel super soft after.
+ It’s only $8 at Target.
+ It goes on smoothly and evenly with no streaking what so ever.
+ I got color immediately even though it’s supposed to gradually darken you and it’s a nice natural tan, not orange looking at all.
So please, I’m starting to say no to these harmful tanning beds and turning to this new lotion, I hope that you all will join me :)
Just bought these three gorgeous chain cuff/stud earrings.
1. RazzleDazzleMe’s Octopus&Anchor
2. Jujubeads’s Dream Catcher
3. Jujubead’s Spikes Chain
All handmade, reasonably priced and lovely. So excited. I only have two piercings in both ears and they are both on my lobe. I’ve been seeing these lovely chain cuff/stud earrings pop up on my dashboard lately and I absolutely love them. I’ve been rocking the one long feather earring look lately and I think this will be a great way to switch it up and get a bit edgy :)
Headbands are becoming one of my new favorite things!
Hey Baby, Take A Walk On The Wild Side
Head Band - Urban Outfitter sale - $4.99
Batwing Shirt - Target sale - $13
Braided Belt - Walmart sale - $2
Leopard Skinny Jeans - Nordstrom Rack (Current/Elliot) - Gifted
I haven’t worn leopard print jeans since I was in high school. However, these pants fit like a dream and I realized I could pair them with so much to switch the look up. I went for a comfy work casual look yesterday since I was back at work making the lovely customers of BB’s Cafe delicious coffee. However, if I wanted to take this outfit out at night, I could throw on some cute wedge ankle boots to kick it up a notch.
Printed skinny jeans are coming out all over the place now. I want to invest in some floral print skinny jeans as well since they would be super cute for the spring/summer. I’ve been looking at these floral print skinny jeans from H&M and they are only $29.95.

H&M has some other really affordable printed skinny jeans.
Here are their blue leopard print skinny jeans.
Here are their green snake skin print skinny jeans.
Hope everyone is having a lovely Tuesday!

Thrifted & Gifted Thursday
Skirt - Thrifted (Value Thrift) - $6.90
T-Shirt - Macy’s - Gifted
I absolutely love this outfit. The high waisted paper bag skirt is such a flattering look. This outfit is perfect for work and play during any season of the year. It’s beautiful and 70 outside so I went with no tights, but if I wanted to get classy, I could throw on tights and a nice pair of heels and rock this baby out during cooler days and evenings. Plus an outfit so versatile for an average of $7, you definitely can’t beat that!
I got the skirt from Value Thrift in Essex, MD. It was my first time there and over all I thought that the store was big, nice, organized but their pricing system is a bit messed up. They over price a lot of the items for what they are, unlike the Westminster Goodwill that over prices brands like Old Navy and Aeropostale but sells Ralph Lauren, J Crew and other top designers/brands at a super low price (love it). However, I did make it out of there with 3 items. This skirt, maroon skinny jeans and a really cute coral short sleeve sweater. I can’t wait to work my other pieces into outfits to show you all!
Happy Thursday everyone!

High Waisted Summer
Cardigan - Gap - Gifted
Lace Bandeau - Nordstroms - $5
Levi High Waisted Shorts - Goodwill - $3.50
I am pretty sure I have stressed about my love for high waisted shorts on here before, but I’m going to do it again! As I’m shrinking more and more I’m becoming confident about rocking shorts and even high waisted ones with either a bandeau or bathing suit top that shoes off about of my stomach. I think it’s a great look that can be worn anywhere by anyone! If you have the confidence to do so, then go for it! Adding a cardigan gives the outfit a bit more class so that you can rock the look anywhere from the beach to the zoo or even just running daily errands.
Local thrift shops like salvation army and goodwill are great places to scope out high waisted jeans for super cheap if you don’t have any. I have found a ton of Levi Strauss brand high waisted shorts and jeans at various shops around and nothing cost more than $6. You can turn your jeans into shorts quite easily! Here’s a tutorial on how to do it!
Hope everyone is enjoying this lovely Saturday!

STOP! Hammer Time
Hat- Forever 21 - $10
Lace Bandeau - Nordstroms -$5
Harem Pants - H&M - $17
I realize these pants aren’t quite as frugalista-friendly as I’d like them to be but when I put them on, the super soft fabric, beautiful abstract print and the numerous outfit ideas starting flowing through my mind, I had to have them. I never thought I’d be able to pull these off but I absolutely love them! I think these are a perfect pant for fall/spring and even cool summer nights. They are light weight and super comfy.
Here are some various ways to wear your harem pants:
1. Harem Pants+Lace Tank+Cardigan

2. Harem Pants+Band/Graphic Tank+Cardigan

3. Harem Pants+Long Sleeve Shirt With Ruffles

4. Harem Pants+Black V-Neck (tucked in or not)

You can rock any of these looks with sandals, wedges or ankle boots, depending on where you are going!

Sperry Safari
Remember my first post ever about my Mom helping me realize when it’s worth it to spend a bit more money on something? Well, I find a lot of the time shoes are just one of those items.
My aunt bought my a pair of classic honey brown Sperry Top-Siders the other and I fell in love with the brand. They are extremely comfortable, versatile and the quality is impeccable. These will last and you will get every penny’s worth with the wear of them.
Some people have been extremely lucky to find quality designer shoes, such as Sperry Top-Siders and Dr. Martens, in their size at various thrift stores for an extremely low price. However, my feet are super funny and in between a 6 1/2 & 7 and I rarely find good shoes in the thrift stores that work for me. However, with a bit of cleaning, if you find nice shoes that fit while thrifting, I would go for it! If they are in good condition, I’m all for it!
Now for those ballin’ on a budget, like myself, but willing to spend a bit extra for a good quality shoe, I recommend checking out the site 6pm.com! They have a ton of well known designer shoes, clothing and accessories for men and woman at extremely discounted prices! One warning is that sizes vary in stock for the shoes since they go fast. I bought the Sperry Top-Sider Biscayne in leopard/black patent for $52.99. The great thing about this site is that I got free shipping and no taxes charged! I am in LOVE with these shoes. I find that Sperrys tend to run big for me so I go for the 6 1/2. These shoes are so cozy and comfortable. I cannot wait to wear these babies out. I think they will go with a ton!
Hope everyone is having a lovely thursday!

Bright & Ready
Cardigan - Target - $10
Tube Top - H&M - $5
Levis Belt - Thrifted (Goodwill) - $2
Bermuda Cut-offs - H&M - $10
It was another dreary day in Baltimore, so I felt like I needed to brighten things up with a fun outfit. I wanted to be as bright and positive as I could because I got to go back to work today! Though it was only for a few hours, it made me feel human again and I got a ton of compliments on my outfit. Nothing better than throwing on some color when it’s damp and dark out, it really can turn things around.
I also got to rock a reconstructed item for the first time that I did ages ago. Those H&M bermuda cut-offs were once long skinny jeans! Unfortunately they were too long and it was a lot of blue for my short self so I decided to make them into cut-offs and they turned out wonderfully. The waist is a bit big for me but the belt makes them work!
If you are looking for cut-off shorts for the summer but don’t have a pair of jeans you want to take scissors to then head to your local thrift store and find some there for cheap and just start cutting away!
Here is a great tutorial from Coolirpa on how to cut your jeans into shorts and an added bonus of a super cute bow you can sew on using the excess fabric!
mollishkayeahyeah asked: Girl, which Goodwill are you hitting? I'm sure it's now empty because you get everything cute, but I'm still curious :]
Aw, thank you Molly! I go to the Westminster, Towson, and Owings Mills Goodwills most frequently. However there are 2 Goodwills in Bel Air that I love to check out whenever I’m in the area and one is a super store so it’s huge! I promise there is plenty of cute stuff left on the racks, especially since I haven’t been able to go thrifting lately ;) If you ever want to go thrifting, let me know! I’m always looking for company.
Also, other thrift shops I frequent around the area are Salvation Army in Towson and the Value Villages in Glen Bernie&College Park. These also have amazing finds for super cheap. If you sign up for the V.I.P. card at Value Village in Glen Bernie, you get 25% your order every thursday! Pretty nifty stuff :)
The Incredible Shrinking Woman
Seven Jeans - Goodwill - $7.71
Beatles Tank - H&M - $12
Belt - Mom’s Closet - Gifted
Sperry Top Siders - Nordstroms - Gifted
So with everything that has been going on I’ve become the incredible shrinking woman. However jeans have never looked so good on me. Seven jeans for $8, I’ll totally take it! As for the Beatles tank, I don’t mind spending full price on for something that looks good and has one of my favorite bands on it. Also I’m late on the whole Sperrys craze but I am loving these shoes. My aunt treated me to a pair this weekend. I then went and bought their Biscayne style in leopard print on 6pm.com because they have AMAZING deals on their shoes, only $52.99 for the pair I got, no tax and free shipping!
My thrifting trip at Goodwill today was quite successful! Lots more goodies to style and share with you all. Thank for tuning in and to all my new followers I have gotten recent, welcome to this wonderful community of fashionistas ballin’ on a budget!
Happy thrifting&shopping everyone!
xx
I haven’t been able to go thrifting in so long because of my back. My aunt is taking me to the Goodwill in Westminster today and I’m so excited to do some hunting. You know what this means, lots of posts to come for you fashionista frugalistas! Get pumped :)

Highs and Lows
Hat - Forever 21 - $10
Cardigan - Target - Gifted
Tube Top - H&M - $6
High-Low Skirt - Forever 21 - $13
Sandals - Walmart - $7
It’s been quite dreary the past few days in Baltimore and unfortunately I’ve been having quite a hard time with things, but some retail therapy is a way to ease pain temporarily right?
Forever 21 is getting in to the high-low skirt and dress trend at the moment which is great because most of the stuff is inexpensive. I’ve loved the style since november when I found two high-low skirts at Free People for $20 (quite the steal) and have been dying for other stores to get with this trend. I find the look to be incredibly flattering for all shapes and sizes, plus the style is perfect for the warm weather we’ve had rolling in. Also, they have a wonderful selection of summer hats that run for $10-$14, gotta look out for yourself whether it’s sunny or raining.
H&M has become incredibly frugal-friendly with their basics sections when I checked it out the other day. Whether it’s solids or prints you are looking for they have tons in tube tops for $5-6, t-shirts for $9, high-low tank tops for $9, dresses for $12 and so much more. I bought 3 tube tops because I’ve been looking for something to wear with my high waisted skirts that were form fitting, flattering and good for the spring/summer.
Retail therapy has done this fashionista frugalista some good. Found some great deals and I was with my aunt so that provided some smiles as well.
Hope everyone’s week is off to a good start.

Thanksgiving in Spring
Naturalizer Pilgrim Shoes - Goodwill - $6
I fell in love with these babies the minute I saw them while in Goodwill with a friend. I know they are technically oxford heels but come on, they look like pilgrim shoes! They were my size and fit wonderfully. I was so excited. I had been on a mission to find loafers but every thrift store I go to, the shoes in my size are such a bust. I had such luck finding these though that it subsided my anger for the lack of loafers, heh.
These shoes would look amazing with a with a black, brown or nude toned tight, contrast colored slouchy socks and a cute dress or skirt/shirt combo. You could even rock these babies with skinny jeans, v-neck t-shirt, brown belt and either a blazer or a brown button vest. Sorry my head is in my closet right now haha.
Happy hunting my following Fashionista Frugalistas :)
